Throughout our 30 years in business, we at FEIT ELECTRIC have consistently felt a deep commitment to the communities we serve. This commitment takes many forms. The most obvious is our laser-point focus on energy-saving products that directly results in less pollution and a cleaner environment for us all. Beyond the inherent environmental benefits of simply making the kinds of products that we do, however, we often yearn to give back in more overt and direct ways that relate to specific groups throughout the country.

- SUPPORTING FORESTRY PROGRAMS: TreePeople's mission is to inspire, engage and support people to take personal responsibility for the urban environment, making it safe, healthy, fun, and sustainable and to share the results as a model for the world. FEIT ELECTRIC is a proud financial supporter of TreePeople's forestry programs, including urban tree plantings, mountain wildfire reforestation, and their Fruit Tree Program to combat hunger. Additionally, FEIT ELECTRIC recently donated energy-saving ECOBULB® PLUS CFL bulbs as gift bag items during TreePeople's "An Evening Under the Harvest Moon" event, October, 3, 2009, in Beverly Hills, CA. - COALITION FOR CLEAN AIR: The Coalition for Clean Air is committed to restoring clean, healthy air and strengthening the environmental movement by promoting broad-based community involvement, advocating responsible public policy and providing technical expertise. FEIT ELECTRIC is proud to support the Coalition for Clean Air.
- HELPING HEAL THE BAY: Heal the Bay is a nonprofit environmental organization dedicated to making Southern California coastal waters and watersheds safe, healthy and clean. They use research, education, community action and advocacy to pursue their mission. FEIT ELECTRIC is a proud “Defender of the Bay” based on 2009 financial contributions to their worthy cause. - CFL BULBS FOR A SCHOOL FUNDRAISER: In early May 2009, Beckford Elementary School in Northridge, California, organized an ewaste clean-up day for community members to drop off obsolete computers and electrical components that should not be disposed of in regular trash collections. As a natural tie-in, FEIT ELECTRIC allowed the school to set up a booth at the event to sell ECOBULB® PLUS energy-saving compact fluorescent bulbs at a deeply discounted price, with the profits going back to the school. Additionally, the elementary school kids got involved prior to the event with pre-order forms. They educated their parents about CFLs while encouraging them to do something to save themselves money, to help the environment and to support the school. - CFL BULBS FOR AFTERSCHOOL AWARENESS DAY: The Afterschool Alliance is a nationwide organization that works to ensure children have affordable, quality afterschool programs. Statistics show that afterschool participation increases school performance, reduces absenteeism and keeps kids out of trouble during otherwise unsupervised afternoons. In October 2008, FEIT ELECTRIC again gladly supported the Afterschool Alliance and Chicago Public School efforts by donating energy-saving and earth-friendly ECOBULB® PLUS compact fluorescent bulbs during “Lights On Afterschool” Awareness Day. Children in the program received the bulbs to take home to parents. Pictured holding the bulbs are members of the Curie High School Gospel Choir who sang at the event breakfast. - CFLS FOR AN AIRCRAFT MUSEUM: The USS Hornet is a restored Navy Aircraft Carrier in Alameda, California, that has been converted into a floating museum. This non-profit entity operates largely on donations to survive. They recently contacted FEIT ELECTRIC about their desire to replace less efficient incandescent bulbs with our ECOBULB® CFLs. - TOYS FOR TOTS GOING STRONG: FEIT ELECTRIC has been a proud participant in TOYS FOR TOTS programs for 5 years running and intends to continue with this program each year. The TOYS FOR TOTS program is designed to collect new, unwrapped toys in Q4 and then distribute them to needy children as holiday gifts in December. The primary goal of TOYS FOR TOTS is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens.
- FEIT ELECTRIC in Chicago's Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum: The Chicago Academy of Sciences' Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum has an "Energy Bike" exhibit that allows young people to ride a bike connected to a display that shows the resulting electricity generated. On the display are both incandescent and CFL light bulbs (12 volt twists) to show what it takes to light up each. FEIT ELECTRIC started donating bulbs for this exhibit in 2009. We are literally inundated with requests for product donations each year, especially for our ECOBULB® PLUS CFLs. We wish that we could accommodate everyone, because we are keenly interested in helping to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through use of our energy efficient bulbs.
