A power outage or router service interruption disconnected the Smart Dimmer from the network. Follow instructions in your user manual to reconnect.

The dimmer is only working intermittently.

Confirm that the Load being controlled does not exceed 450W incandescent or 150W LED.

The power indicator light does not turn on.

The neutral wire may not be properly connected to the dimmer.

Confirm that the dimmer is being supplied from a 120 volt AC 60 Hz source ONLY.

The lights do not turn on.

There may be a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker cutting off electricity to your fixture.

Your fixture or bulb may have burned out.

Check that the wires connecting the dimmer are firmly secured.

The lights are flickering.

Tighten any loose bulbs and ensure all bulbs are rated “dimmable”.

Check that the wires connecting the dimmer are firmly secured.

If flickering continues, it may be caused by irregular power surges and spikes of electric energy moving along power lines and building wiring.

Flickering more frequently occurs at lower dim levels. There are two ways to set the lowest possible dimming level which may help with flickering.  If you have enabled smart features, you can use the Feit Electric app. Under Settings, adjust the minimum brightness until you do not see flickering.  You can also set this low-dim point manually on the dimmer.  Follow the instructions in the Installation Guide for more information.

How do I access the Smart Dimmer features (schedule & settings) in the Feit Electric app?

I am having trouble connecting my Smart Dimmer to Wi-Fi

  1. Make sure the Wi-Fi network is a 2.4 GHz network. The Smart Dimmer will not connect to a 5 GHz network. If your Smart Dimmer is already on the right frequency, make sure that your phone is not using a VPN app in the background.
  2. Test your Wi-Fi network with other devices such as your phone to make sure it is operating properly.
  3. The Wi-Fi connection may not have good coverage during set up. You may need to improve your Wi-Fi network coverage by upgrading your router or adding a range extender.
  4. Your Wi-Fi network password is case sensitive, make sure you are entering it correctly.

The Smart  Dimmer must be blinking rapidly to connect.  If it’s not blinking rapidly press and hold the power on/off switch for ten seconds until it is blinking rapidly and in pairing mode.

How do I set up and install the Smart Dimmer?

The first step is to identify your wiring at home to understand if you have a Single Pole or 3-Way switch and how you plan to install the dimmer.  You must also check to see if you have a neutral wire.  If you do not have a neutral wire the dimmer will not work.

You will then need to follow the detailed instructions outlined in the included Installation Guide to label your wires, wire the dimmer and complete the installation.

If you are not sure about any of the steps please consult a qualified electrician for assistance.

Can the Smart Dimmer replace Single Pole or 3-Way Switches?

The Smart Dimmer can replace Single Pole or 3-Way switches.  3-Way installations can be done two ways –  either with one Smart Dimmer with a switch on the same circuit or two Smart Dimmers on the same circuit.
