How Do I Install the Smart Indoor Plug

Plug the Smart Indoor Plug into an indoor electrical outlet and download the free Feit Electric app.  Follow the instructions in the app to connect the plug to your Wi-Fi network.  Your phone must be connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network to connect your plug.  For more information please watch this video.


Can I turn on/off my Plug without the Feit Electric app?

Yes, you can turn your Plug on/off by pressing the power button on the unit.

How do I rename my Plug?

Press and hold the device icon for 2-3 seconds to access the control panel.  Tap the pen icon in the top right corner and select Edit Device Name.

Are the Plugs HomeKit compatible?

The Plugs are not HomeKit compatible.  But you can enable Siri shortcuts using the Smart Scenes feature in the Feit Electric App.

Do I need to buy smart devices to be able to control them with the Plug?

The plug adds smart device control to whatever electronic device is plugged into the socket.  They do not have to be smart devices.

How do I reset the Plug?

To reset your Plug, hold the reset button down for approximately 5 seconds. When the blue indicator LED starts blinking rapidly, it is ready for setup.

What does it mean if my Plug status is “offline” or the blue indicator LED is flashing?

A power outage or router service interruption disconnected the Plug from the network. Follow instructions in your user manual to reconnect.

How do I access the Plug smart features (schedule & timers)?

From the My Home menu in the Feit Electric app press and hold the device icon for 2-3 seconds to access the control panel.

I am having trouble connecting my Plug to Wi-Fi.

  1. Make sure the Wi-Fi network is a 2.4 GHz network. The Plug will not connect to a 5 GHz network. If your smart plug is already on the right frequency, make sure that your phone is not using a VPN app in the background.
  2. Test your Wi-Fi network with other devices such as your phone to make sure it is operating properly.
  3. The Wi-Fi connection may not have good coverage during set up. Try moving the Plug closer to your Wi-Fi router. You may also need to improve your Wi-Fi network coverage by upgrading your router or adding a range extender.
  4. Your Wi-Fi network password is case sensitive, make sure you are entering it correctly.
  5. The Plug must be blinking rapidly to connect.  If it’s not blinking rapidly press and hold the power button for five seconds until it is blinking rapidly and in pairing mode.

How do I set up and install the Indoor Smart Plug?

  1. Plug in the Smart Wi-Fi Plug into any indoor outlet.
  2. Launch the Feit Electric app and enter a mobile number or email address then tap Continue.
  3. Create a password then tap Done.
  4. Tap + in the upper right corner.
  5. Tap Plugs and select Indoor Plug.
  6. The blue indicator light on the Plug must be rapidly blinking to connect. If not already blinking, press and hold the power button for five seconds, then tap Confirm.
  7. After confirming that you are on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network, tap Confirm.

I can’t control the electronic device plugged into my smart plug

Check to be sure the device is powered on.  Devices must be on in order to be controlled via the mobile app.
