Tips for optimal performance
Lamps and fixtures with metal housings may reduce WiFi signals
If your WiFi coverage does not reach the bulb, consider a range extender
Beware of turning the power on and off 3 times quickly, as this will reset the device
Not recommended for use with dimmer switches
Position your router as close to a common open area as possible
Bulbs will not connect
The bulb(s) will not connect to the WiFi network
Feit Electric WiFi bulb(s) only support 2.4GHz WiFi networks. So if you’re trying to connect bulb(s) to WiFi with the Feit Electric app, make sure you are not connected to your homes 5GHz network. Note: if you attempted to setup the bulb(s) using a 5GHz network, restart the Feit Electric app before trying to connect to your homes 2.4GHz.
How many bulbs can I connect in my network?
I can only connect a certain number of bulbs to my network
The Feit Electric App does not have a limitation on the number of bulbs that can be connected. Limitations on number of bulbs is based on the home WiFi router and its ability to connect to the devices.
Bulb(s) State “Offline”
1. Confirm the bulb(s) have constant power
Constant power is required at all times to make sure your bulb(s) are always connected to your home wiFi network. Confirm that the power is ON at all times.
2. Confirm home Wifi is working
Since the Feit Electric Smart Wifi bulb(s) uses your home WiFi network, check that you can get online with another device. If you’re using a cell phone, do no use cellular data to test your connection. Place the phone on airplane mode.
3. Restart the bulb(s)
Cycle the power to your bulb(s), Off/On to restart your bulbs.
4. Restart the home network router
Restarting your router will reset your internet connection. You should also restart any WiFi range extenders or repeaters.
How to restart your router:
1. Unplug the modem and router power cords. All the lights on the modem and router should be off.
2. Wait for 30 seconds, then plug the modem and router back in.
3. The modem and router will restart. Wit a couple of minutes or until you see steady power connection lights. You may also see a quickly flashing data light. Note: Every router is different. You may need to consult your routers user manual for specific instructions on how to restart the router.
5. Check the settings on the Wifi router or access point
Incompatible settings on your home WiFi router/access point, parental controls and firewall security can cause the Smart WiFi bulb(s) to disconnect or show offline in the Feit Electric app. Refer to your WiFi router/access point documentation to see how you can exempt the WiFi bulb(s) from these restrictions.
Standard WiFi routers use the 2.4GHz band, the 5GHz band, or both. Feit WiFi bulb(s) only support the 2.4GHz band.
6. Check for interference
Check for sources of WiFi interference:
If the bulb(s) signal strength is below 50%, turn off any devices that operate on a 2.4GHz frequency. Below are some devices that may cause wireless interference:
Wireless video equipment
