What You'll Do:
Under direction of the Shipping Supervisor the Truck Driver is responsible for operating the various Trucks, such as Bob Tails, Cutaway Vans, Cargo Vans, and Passenger Vehicles to perform material handling assignments. This includes but is not limited to identifying and transporting product to and from storage areas to overhead racking.
Responsibilities to include:
- Performs safety checks on all trucks before the beginning of every shift and prior to use to ensure equipment is operable and safe.
- Transportation of product special orders to local and surrounding locations.
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of trucks
- Performing warehouse duties on an as needed basis.
- Maintain all hauling and productivity requirements.
- Responsible for customer contact when required
- Other duties may be assigned
Necessary Job Skills and Requirements:
- Adding and Subtracting (general math skills)
- Must understand RF Scanner Functionality
- Must adhere to all safety practices
- Good attendance record
- Valid driver's license
- May be subject to random drug testing following initial screen
- Must be punctual
- Goal oriented with positive attitude
- Willing to work overtime
Specific Skills:
- Excellent communication skills
- Prior experience using hands free navigation device
Education and Experience:
- High School or GED
- Must possess a current California Class ‘A’ driver’s license with 5 years driving experience and 3 years truck driving experience
- Must have a clean DMV driving record and submit to periodic DMV Pull Program. Failure to maintain a clean driving record may result in termination of employment.
- 5 years driving experience and 3 years Truck Driving experience with Bob Tail, Cutaway Vans, Cargo Vans, and Passenger Vehicles.
Working Conditions:
The warehouse is open to the outside and may be hot or cold depending on the current weather conditions.
Essential Physical Tasks:
The Truck Driver/Operator must be capable of operating manual, and automatic transmission Trucks and Cars. A large percentage of time will be spent sitting, while driving. Additional this position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, reach, and bend. Due to the constant driving this position also requires good eye hand coordination and normal hearing to avoid injury or collision. The operator must have the ability to grasp, and hold. They must be able to withstand repetitive motion with both their hands and feet. On occasion this position will require the ability to lift and or carry up to 50 lbs.
Pay Range: $23.00 to $24.00 hourly / non-exempt
