Dimmer Compatibility
Find the Right Dimmer for Your Feit Electric Lights
How to Check Dimmer Compatibility
Not all dimmers work the same way with LED bulbs. A dimmer rated for incandescent bulbs may flicker, buzz, or shut off early when paired with LEDs. Follow these steps to verify your dimmer is compatible before upgrading.
01
Find your dimmer switch brand and model number — printed on the front face or inside the wall plate (e.g., Lutron DVCL-153P, Leviton DSL06).
02
Check the wattage rating on your dimmer. LED loads are typically 10–15% of the labeled wattage — a 600W incandescent dimmer may only support 60–90W of LED.
03
Count the number of bulbs on the circuit and note each bulb's wattage. The total LED load must fall within your dimmer's minimum and maximum LED range.
04
Identify your bulb type — A19, PAR, MR16, candelabra, etc. Some dimmers are optimized for specific form factors or driver types.
05
Search the Feit Electric Dimmer Compatibility List for your dimmer model to confirm tested compatibility and expected dimming range.
