Color Selectable LED Light Bulbs FAQs
What is the difference between color selectable and color changing bulbs?
Color selectable bulbs switch between white light presets — 2700K warm white, 3000K soft white, 4000K cool white, and 5000K daylight — using a built-in physical mechanism. No app required. Color changing bulbs (RGBW) produce millions of colors including red, green, blue, and white, and are typically controlled via the Feit Electric app or a remote. Choose color selectable for task and ambient lighting; choose color changing for accent, entertainment, and mood.
How do you change the color temperature on a Feit Electric color selectable bulb?
Feit Electric color selectable bulbs use one of four built-in mechanisms: (1) Power Cycle — flip the wall switch off and on within 2 seconds to step through CCT settings; (2) Switch on Bulb — a physical toggle on the bulb base, set before or after installation while the bulb is off; (3) Twist & Select — a rotating dial at the base, twist to your desired CCT; (4) App or dimmer control on select smart models. Check the product packaging to confirm which method your bulb uses. The selected CCT holds until you change it again.
Do Feit Electric color selectable bulbs require an app or Wi-Fi?
No. Standard Feit Electric color selectable bulbs require no app, no Wi-Fi, and no smart home hub. Color temperature is changed directly at the bulb using a physical mechanism — power cycling, a toggle switch, or the Twist & Select dial. They work in any standard E26 socket with no additional setup.
What color temperatures are available in Feit Electric color selectable bulbs?
Most Feit Electric color selectable bulbs offer four settings: 2700K warm white, 3000K soft white, 4000K cool white, and 5000K daylight. Some models offer a 3-in-1 range of 3000K/4000K/5000K. The selected color temperature holds until you manually change it — making these a true set-it-and-forget-it solution.
Are Feit Electric color selectable bulbs dimmable?
Some models are dimmable and some are not — check the individual product specifications. Dimmable color selectable bulbs require a compatible LED dimmer switch. See feit.com/pages/dimmer-compatibility for the full list of compatible dimmers. Non-dimmable models work on standard on/off switches only.
