Decorative & Vintage Bulbs FAQs

What is an Edison bulb?
An Edison bulb is a decorative light bulb with a visible filament that mimics the look of Thomas Edison's original incandescent design. Most modern Edison bulbs are LED — they deliver the same warm, vintage glow with up to 85% less energy. Feit Electric Edison bulbs are available in ST19, ST21, and ST58 shapes with both clear and amber glass.
What size globe bulb fits a bathroom vanity fixture?
G25 (3.125" diameter) is the most common size for bathroom vanity fixtures and Hollywood-style mirror surrounds. G30 fits larger vanity bars. Both use a standard E26 medium base. Feit Electric G25 globe bulbs are available in soft white and bright white to match your preferred bathroom lighting tone.
What is the difference between E26 and E12 bulb bases?
E26 is the standard medium base found in most table lamps, pendants, and ceiling fixtures. E12 is the smaller candelabra base used in chandeliers, sconces, and ceiling fans. Check your fixture socket before purchasing — the two bases are not interchangeable. Feit Electric decorative bulbs are available in both E26 and E12.
Are decorative LED bulbs dimmable?
Not all decorative LED bulbs are dimmable — look for the dimmable label on the package. You'll also need an LED-compatible dimmer switch; standard incandescent dimmers can cause flickering. Feit Electric clearly marks dimmable decorative bulbs on every package and product listing.
What is the difference between clear and amber decorative bulbs?
Clear glass shows the filament cleanly and produces a bright, warm white light — ideal for modern and industrial spaces. Amber glass filters the light to a deeper, golden tone — best for moody, vintage, or warm-atmosphere settings like dining rooms, bars, and bedroom accent lighting. Feit Electric offers both clear and amber filament styles across Edison and globe shapes.
