What is the difference between BR30 and BR40 bulbs?
The number indicates diameter — BR30 is 3.75 inches wide and fits standard 5" and 6" recessed cans. BR40 is 5 inches wide and is designed for larger 6" and 8" cans. Feit Electric offers both in dimmable, ENERGY STAR certified LED options.
What size recessed light bulb fits a 6-inch can?
A BR30 or BR40 bulb fits most 6-inch recessed cans. BR30 is the most common choice — it sits flush and spreads light evenly. For a more directional beam, a PAR30 also fits a 6-inch opening. Check your fixture's trim size to confirm before purchasing.
What is the difference between flood and spot light bulbs?
Flood bulbs spread light wide (60°+) — ideal for general room lighting and recessed cans. Spot bulbs focus light in a narrow beam (45° or less) — best for accent lighting, artwork, and shelving. Feit Electric offers both flood and spot options in PAR and BR shapes.
Are recessed light bulbs dimmable?

Can I use any LED bulb in a recessed can fixture?
