FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know what size replacement bulb I need?
Check the base of your current bulb or the string light socket. Most heavy-duty string lights use a standard Medium base (E26). Smaller decorative strings typically use a thinner Candelabra base (E12 or C7).
What is the difference between S14 and G40 bulbs?
This refers to the bulb shape. S14 bulbs have a classic teardrop 'sign' shape and usually fit E26 bases. G40 bulbs are perfectly round globes and typically fit smaller E12 bases.
Can I replace incandescent bulbs with LED bulbs?
Yes! You can safely screw an LED bulb into an older incandescent string light socket as long as the base size matches. LEDs use up to 90% less electricity and last much longer.
Are these replacement bulbs shatterproof?
Most of our LED replacement bulbs are made from shatter-resistant polycarbonate or acrylic. They offer the classic look of glass but are designed to survive drops and high winds without breaking.
Can I mix incandescent and LED bulbs on the same string?
While technically possible if the bases match, it is not recommended. Mixing bulb types can lead to uneven brightness and color temperatures. For the best look and efficiency, replace all bulbs with LEDs at once.
