Senior Product Manager, Fixture Business Unit - Chicago, IL or Los Angeles, CA

Who We Are:

Feit Electric has been a leading global lighting brand for over 45 years. Founded as a family business in California, we combine best-in-class design, deep supply chain expertise, and cutting-edge technology to deliver smarter, safer, and more energy-efficient home products across major North American retail channels.

Our mission is simple: make lighting better — and bring it to every home. We challenge the status quo every day, and our Fixture Business Unit is one of the fastest-growing parts of our portfolio.

What You'll Do:

As Senior Product Manager for the Feit Fixture Business Unit, you will own the full product lifecycle for a portfolio spanning multiple product categories, including commercial and utility lighting and a growing indoor and outdoor decorative category. You will work closely with the Business Unit Leader, our engineering and operations teams, and key retail buyers to build category strategies that win at shelf and drive business performance.

Own Category Strategy & Portfolio

  • Lead end-to-end product lifecycle management for your fixture categories, from concept through commercialization and end-of-life.
  • Develop and maintain product roadmaps aligned with channel strategies across Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, Menards, Costco, ACE Hardware, and independent hardware retailers.
  • Define SKU architecture, tiering, and Good/Better/Best structure across product lines.
  • Identify assortment gaps and growth opportunities through competitive market analysis and retail channel reviews.
  • Conduct SKU rationalization and manage EOL transitions to maintain a healthy, profitable portfolio.

Drive Retail & Sales Success

  • Prepare and present line review materials, business reviews, and new item sell-in presentations to retail buyers and internal leadership.
  • Drive packaging development, planogram strategy, and in-store presentation standards across DIY, mass merchant, membership club, and hardware channels.
  • Partner with the Sales team weekly to ensure alignment on product positioning, pipeline status, and go-to-market timing.

Manage Product Financials

  • Own product P&L for your categories, including new item margin analysis, cost-down initiatives, and ongoing portfolio profitability tracking.
  • Build pricing strategy and promotional planning by channel, in partnership with Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
  • Monitor category performance against KPIs and make data-driven adjustments to hit targets.

Collaborate Across Functions & Factories

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between overseas factories and internal teams throughout the product development and production process.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure UL/ETL certification, regulatory compliance, and product safety requirements are met for all fixture SKUs.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Engineering team to keep all active projects on schedule and aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee sample preparation, test samples, and packaging development milestones.
  • Proof and approve packaging copy and instruction sheets prior to production.

Generate Insights & Innovate

  • Conduct regular store visits to observe product placement and gather competitive insights.
  • Perform online research covering competitor activity, technology trends, import data, customer reviews, and customer service feedback.
  • Analyze call logs and online reviews to identify recurring pain points and recommend product improvements.
  • Engage with end users to validate unmet needs and concept directions.

Embody Feit's Values

  • Be Real: Foster honesty and transparency in all cross-functional relationships.
  • Raise the Bar: Hold high standards for quality, precision, and continuous improvement.
  • Get Scrappy: Move fast, overcome obstacles, and do more with less.
  • Help Customers: Work backward from customer pain points to deliver meaningful value.
  • Team Up for Success: Communicate clearly, listen well, and commit to decisions.

What You'll Need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: 8+ years of product management experience with a proven track record in lighting, consumer electronics, home improvement, or equivalent hardware categories.
  • Category Expertise: Familiarity with light fixture product categories is a strong plus.
  • Retail Knowledge: Demonstrated experience managing products through major home improvement and mass retail channels (Home Depot, Lowe's, Walmart, Costco, Menards, etc.).
  • Financial Acumen: Proven P&L ownership, pricing strategy, and margin management skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong market research, competitive analysis, and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
