Technical Program Manager - Pico Rivera, CA

Who We Are:

Founded and headquartered in California, Feit Electric is celebrating over 46 years as a leading global lighting and smart home brand, offering a full portfolio of reliable lighting products — from home décor lighting and light fixtures to smart, feature-rich solutions and general household bulbs. Built on customer obsession, nimble execution, and relentless pursuit of market disruption, we're a team of hundreds who take pride in making quality lighting widely available for the average home.

What You'll Do:

As the Technical Program Manager, you will own the program-level view across multiple concurrent product development initiatives, from concept through launch — the single point of coordination between engineering, product management, art, quality, regulatory, and operations, driving programs on time, on spec, and on standard. This is a mid-level role focused on raising the team's overall productivity: improving how work is documented, clarifying process ownership through well-defined RACIs, and applying AI tools to support both. You'll build and maintain the workflows (in Asana and elsewhere) that put those processes into practice, so documentation, accountability, and execution data stay current without manual status-chasing.

Key responsibilities:

Program Planning & Execution

  • Own program-level planning across concurrent product initiatives, using structured methodologies (e.g., phase-gate/stage-gate) to sequence work and manage dependencies between projects.
  • Build and maintain master timelines, milestone tracking, and deliverable ownership across engineering, product management, art, quality, regulatory, and operations.
  • Identify scheduling risk and cross-project dependencies before they impact launch dates; escalate blockers to your manager with clear options.

Process Documentation, RACI & Workflow Design

  • Document and formalize processes that currently live in people's heads — clear, repeatable procedures for how programs move through the product development lifecycle.
  • Own creation of process SOPs, program documentation, and compliance paperwork (e.g., user manuals, regulatory submissions) needed at each program stage.
  • Define and maintain RACIs across cross-functional workflows so ownership, approvals, and handoffs are unambiguous at every stage.
  • Serve as the team's Asana subject-matter expert, translating documented processes and RACIs into templates, custom fields, rules, and portfolios.
  • Train the team on documented processes and Asana workflows, refining both as programs and headcount grow.
  • Leverage Asana AI and other AI tools to keep documentation current, automate task assignment, and flag at-risk work early.

Data-Driven Insight & Reporting

  • Develop dashboards and recurring reports that track program health, on-time delivery, and throughput, pulling data out of Asana and other systems.
  • Interpret operational data to identify bottlenecks, quantify delivery risk, and implement process changes; deliver regular updates to your manager and business unit managers.
  • Build exception-based alerting (e.g., flagging late milestones) so risk is visible before it's raised in a meeting.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance

  • Act as the primary liaison between engineering, product management, art, quality, regulatory, operations, and business unit managers on program status and priorities.
  • Coordinate with overseas factory and supplier contacts on documentation, milestone communications, and schedule commitments.
  • Plan and facilitate cross-functional ceremonies — standups, design reviews, retrospectives — driving clear, documented follow-through on action items.
  • Track and verify that technical documentation, safety reports (e.g., UL/ETL), and regulatory items (e.g., Title 20, Energy Star) are reviewed and closed on schedule.

What You'll Need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of technical program or project management experience, ideally with overseas manufacturing/partner teams.
  • PMP certification preferred (or actively pursuing).
  • Track record of launching hardware products on time with Asian manufacturing partners.
  • Hands-on experience administering Asana — building custom fields, rules, forms, and portfolio-level reporting — not just using it. Other PM tools (Jira, Monday.com) are a plus.
  • Experience with AI-enabled PM tools (e.g., Claude, Asana AI) and comfort with data tools (Power BI, Excel) for reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to document a process, define a RACI, and roll out the resulting workflow — not just follow one someone else built.
  • Experienced practitioner of PM methodologies and tools such as Critical Path, Critical Chain, and Operational Excellence tools such as Value Stream Mapping.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills; proactive and comfortable driving process improvement without being asked.
  • Familiarity with LED lighting design specifications, schematics, or hardware testing is a plus.

Physical requirements:

  • On-site role with extended periods at a desk or in project labs; occasional participation in physical testing of prototypes and lifting up to 50 lbs for logistics.

Why join us?

Join a fast-paced, innovation-driven team committed to redefining smart home and lighting solutions. Your program leadership and the systems you build will directly shape how efficiently our products get to market.

What You'll Get:

  • Medical, dental, vision, 401k, and paid time off.
